5th to 12th April 2010


A week past that has seen some really super fish taken at Eyebrook, including some much larger specimens taken by bank anglers, especially from the Hawthorns area.

The heaviest fish of the week was a super 13lb 7oz rainbow taken by David Allen of Bletchley, Milton Keynes. David was bank fishing above the Hawthorns and took the specimen on a Gold headed Damsel fished on a floating line.

Pipped by just 1oz for the biggest fish was Kevin McCarthy, also of Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Kev’s fish was taken at The Three Tree’s with a Montana nymph fished on a floating line.

Ken Clayton of Deeping St James took some nice fish from the Hawthorn bank including a cracking 10lb 15oz rainbow, this fish also fell for a Gold headed Damsel.

Season ticket holder Ian Jobe of Ashfordby, Melton took three rainbows for 17lb 8oz including a super 10lb 8oz fish, Ian caught on Bloodworm imitation

Ray Buckland of Warkton, Kettering took three nice fish on Buzzers including a 9lb 11oz and a 6lb 8oz rainbow; Ray fished the bank at Mucky Bay.

Boat fishermen have also fared well this week and Dean McGahan and Alan Goddard of Markfield took nine fish between them fishing the Main Basin. Dean used a Gold head Damsel on a floating line to take the heaviest fish in the bag, a cracker that weighed 6lb 11oz

.

John Rose and Alan Brooking both of Leicester took limit bag’s apiece from the Main Basin; John took all of his fish on Buzzers and included a nice 4lb plus rainbow; his bag tipped the scales to 24lb. Alan caught all of his rainbows on a Green and Black Tadpole, eight fish for 21lb.
