Dave Chadwick of Ashley won the Eyebrook heat of the 2009 Troutmaster’s fish off: Dave took eight rainbows for 21lb 11oz from the Dam wall on Buzzers. Dave now goes forward to represent the Eyebrook at the grand final of the Troutmaster’s competition to be held at Grafham water on 10th May 2010.

Stewart Normington of Barrowby, Grantham took eight fine rainbows from the bank at the Three Trees; Stewart’s fish weighed 23lb 4oz and all fell to a Cats Whisker.

The Chestnut Tree proved to be the place to fish the bank for visiting angler Jim Penny of Dalbeattie; Jim fished Buzzers to take eight fine rainbows for 20lb 4oz.

Gordon McCulloch of Harpenden boat fished and took the best fish of the week at 12lb 3oz; Gordon took his fish on a Damsel pattern.

Warren Wells led The Sherbourne Piscatorial Fly Fishers who all enjoyed Eyebrook hospitality, according to Warren, the last time the club fished at Eyebrook was 25 year’s ago, lets hope its not another 25 years before the next visit lads.

Tony Wells of Sileby, Leicester boat fished at Mucky Bay and caught five rainbows on a Gold Head Fritz Damsel: Tony’s heaviest rainbow weighed 11lb 7oz.

Callum Smith aged 11 years accompanied by his Uncle, Nigel Walton, both of Coventry, anchored their boat on a very cold day off Robbo’s Cabin. Callum fished an intermediate line with an Orange Nomad lure to take a brace of a bag of four fine rainbows that tipped the scales to 10lb 8oz; very well done Callum.

Local Bed and Breakfast proprietor Chris Brown of The Old Plough, Caldecott accompanied his brother in law John Horne on a boat for the day. Chris caught a super conditioned rainbow on a Cats Whisker that weighed 5lb 13oz.

Carl Bozicek of Broughton boat fished Mucky Bay and took eight good rainbows for 20lb on Pheasant Tail nymphs and Spider patterns.

Henry Reynolds of Moggerhanger decided to boat fish the shallows at Stoke Dry and fished a team of Buzzers to take eight fine rainbows for 23lb 12oz; Henry also returned a further nine fish.
